We’re always looking for new members to join The Branford Buzz and there are many exciting opportunities for BHS students to get involved – writing, photography, graphic design, editing, and social media. The Branford Buzz is an award-winning publication with a long and storied history of delivering news and information since 1938. The publication operates entirely through the efforts of BHS students, guided by faculty adviser Christian “Bing” Miller, an English teacher who previously worked as a daily newspaper reporter.

The publication has undergone several name changes throughout its evolution. Initially known as The Hornet, in tribute to the school’s mascot, it later became The Hornet Herald, then The Sting, before adopting its current name, The Branford Buzz, in 2000. It has also transitioned from a traditional printed paper to a fully digital platform over the years.
As The Buzz, it proudly continues BHS’s rich legacy of journalism, offering a vital outlet for student expression and a trusted, factual news source that is valued by both students and faculty alike. Click here to view the staff profiles.
