As the bitter, blizzardy winter comes to an end, sunshine, warmth, and sports begin to pick up again this spring season.
Starting this March, athletes will see the turf and courts yet again as they compete during the start of a new spring sports season here at BHS. With the constant influx and outflux of players year to year, it is always interesting to see how each season will pan out.
Boys Lacrosse
2025 Record: 9-7
Captains: Hunter Ljunggren, Trent Tracy, Luke Gagliardi
The Boys Lacrosse team is setting their sights for March 31, where they will play their first game of the season at East Lyme. With a surge in freshmen, the team is looking to beef up before they kick their season off.
Not only will the team have a good lineup of freshmen, but they also will keep most of their team from the previous year.
“This year [is looking] better than last year, we have lots of returning starters, and we only lost 2 seniors. We are definitely looking to make some noise,” concluded Gagliardi.

The Boy’s Tennis team is looking towards new beginnings, and what this new season could hold for them. The team appears to only improve season by season as bonds grow stronger, which plays a big role in the team’s success, according to Ishaan Bhawnani.
“Our team relies heavily on communication, and it’s definitely reflective in our games. While Tennis is both an individual and team sport, in the end we all come together; being there for each other is one of our strengths,” Bhawnani added.

2025 Record: 10-8
Captains: Hana Omeragic, Tate Jones, Lily Gagliardi
The Girls Tennis team will take to the courts in the afternoon hours of April 4, where they will play their first game away against Cheshire. They’re hoping to find continued success after a positive previous season, and to keep climbing the ranks.

“We had some hard losses on varsity last year, so we are looking to improve. I think we will still be able to make states, there [are going to be] lots of competitive games, but I think we can succeed,” remarked Captain Trevor Cser in a comment to The Buzz.
