Lip Sync Contest Returns After Two Year Absence

By Leila Verzella & Ms. Lucibello

As the school year comes to a close, it’s important to celebrate all that has been accomplished this year. In this spirit of celebrating our community, the Interact Club is holding what promises to be a fun, relaxing night that will kick off the beginning of summer with a lot of laughs.

Interact, a student version of Rotary, is a worldwide organization whose participants are committed to serving their communities, both locally and globally. In keeping with Interact’s motto of “Service above Self,” each participant in the Lip Sync Battle will be performing for the charity of their choice.

Interact members are thrilled to bring back the lip sync battle, which hasn’t been done since the 2021-22 school year. Although only our current juniors and seniors may remember that battle,  there were many highlights. Ms. Simone, Dr. Chen, and Mrs. Tucker’s portrayal of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” was nothing short of breathtaking, and Ms. Loesche and Mr. Briganti’s “Summer Loving” was a real crowd pleaser. However, Ms. Lucibello and the Interact students took home the crown, with their window-smashing, tire-slashing performance of Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats.”

This year, the lip sync battle is being held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 in the BHS auditorium. The teachers participating include Ms. Loesche, Ms. Jones, Ms. Paul, Ms. Carey, Ms. Hunter, Mrs. Cyr, Mrs. DiSalvo, Ms. Simone, Dr. Chen, Ms. Chaplar, Mr. Matthiessen, Mr. Greundel, Mr. Briganti, Mr. Panagoulias, Mrs. O’Brien, and Mrs. Baker. You can also expect to see many of your BHS classmates gracing the stage as they team up with one or more of their favorite teachers.

Tickets will only be sold at the door, so come early and claim your front row seat!   All the proceeds of the night will be donated to the winning group’s organization of choice. This is the perfect opportunity for celebrating our school community while also supporting a worthwhile cause.  We hope to see you there!
