Last year, if students wanted preemptive practice for the crucial SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) exam, students were require to spend their own money and their Saturday to take the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test). The tides have turned, and this year Branford High School will be providing an opportunity for all sophomores and juniors to take the PSAT’s during school on October 16th.
The PSAT is a two hour test that is a great way to prepare students for the SAT exam. Students may agree that this new plan to make the PSAT’s mandatory is great.”I think it’s a good idea for students to get a trial run before the real thing” says BHS junior Haley Brown.
Not only are those that are eligible getting a trial run, but students who were unable to take the PSAT’s because of financial limitations now have the opportunity to get an idea of what the SAT’s are going to look like and have a chance to set a foundation for improving their scores.
